Summary of career/studies
I obtained my Bachelor Degree in Biological Sciences at University of Tuscia, in Viterbo. During my Bachelor I spent 9 months at the Plymouth University where I worked in Robert Belshaw Lab. Here I studied the evolution of endogenous retroviruses in host genome. Then, in the same italian University, I obtained the Master Degree in Molecular and Cellular biology.
During my thesis I worked at Fondazione Santa Lucia, I studied the role of purinergic and histaminergic signaling in Multiple Sclerosis under the supervision of prof. Cinzia Volontè. After I got my degree I won a 6 months scholarship and I moved to Finland, where I worked in Maart Saarma Lab. Here I studied the therapeutic potential of CDNF/MANF neurotrophic factor families in ALS disease.
